Growing up Undertaker was the wrestler you idolize, from his perfect kayfabe to his signature walk-out theme and gear. Undertaker’s career is something to marvel at. With 30 years under his belt coming to an emotional ending for fans all over the world and of all ages.
The last night’s show-closing “Final Farewell” segment featured appearances by several well known Hall of Famers and Superstars – Shane McMahon, Kane, Big Show, JBL, Jeff Hardy, Mick Foley, The Godwinns, The Godfather, Savio Vega, Rikishi, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and Triple H. WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon introduced The Undertaker. The clip above is from the segment, and below is the video package that aired, which featured comments from Shane, Triple H, John Cena, and WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin.
Vince begins boasting how Undertaker’s run will never be duplicated, and how he struck fear in the hearts of his opponents while entertaining a global audience in WWF and WWE. Vince added that Taker’s legacy will live on eternally. Taker’s career ended well with great opponents he was matched against and with it ending on Survivor Series it was a fitting farewell. The Deadman is laid to rest around his loved ones and peers.
